A horror "sandwich" on whole wheat Sci-Fi! Laughing

The Mystery of the Wax Museum, a delicious classic from 1933 — with the delectable Fay Wray and the spicy Glenda Farrell — fill out this horror hand-meal, placed carefully between fresh threads for Judge Dredd (1995) and Lost in Space (1998).

"Danger, Will Robinson! Mixing horror with science fiction may cause indigestion!"

Judge Dredd (1995)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ Director Danny Cannon was so disheartened over his constant creative disputes with Sylvester Stallone that he swore he would never again work with another self-absorbed actor. He also claimed that the final version was completely different from the script due to the changes Stallone demanded.

Note from me: Being a director must indeed be tough when you're trying to make a movie a certain way, but you're interfered with by the studio or the producer or a big star like Stallone

The Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ This film was produced before the Production Code. When it was re-made only 20 years later, as House of Wax (1953), all references to drug use were removed and a character was changed from a junkie to an alcoholic.

Note from me: I can't imagine why the Production Code would prohibit the mention of drug abuse and junkies. Did they think the public would be shocked to know that some people were drug addicts?

Lost in Space (1998)

Opening Statement: IMDB has several interesting trivia items for this production.

~ Dick Tufeld reprises his role from Lost in Space (1965) as the voice of the Robot.

Note from me: Mr. Tufeld turned out to be an even better "robot voice" than we thought. His movie version sounds so commanding and impressive!
