Sometimes those two words at the conclusion of a film — The End — can be ignored, because the story "has legs", as they say. Very Happy

Below are three posts which prove that The End can really mean To Be Continued . . .

Enjoy what I came up with, then add your own ideas, either by continuing my narrative or by starting a brand new sequel of your own. Very Happy

The Werewolf (1956)

Let's Create a Sequel!
________________________________

~ A Question for the Members: Could a sequel have been in made in the late fifties for this low-budget but admirable sci-fi version of the werewolf legend?

The Wikipedia article for this movie has an interesting description of the plot which describes why the two unscrupulous doctors experimented on the poor man who was injured in an auto accident and came to them for help at their remote laboratory in the San Bernardino National Forest in California.
________________________________

They had injected him with "irradiated wolf serum", which they had never before used on humans. The doctors believe that the serum, when perfected, will allow "a select minority of people" — chosen by them — to survive the unavoidable nuclear holocaust that's coming. Lycanthropy, however, is an unfortunate side effect.
________________________________

That's an new and original version of the werewolf idea; these scientists want to inoculate the human race against radiation poisoning! Believe it or not, there really are treatments that do this today! Here's what Nation Library of Health says about the research in this area back in 2007.
________________________________

The development of an anti-radiation vaccine could be very useful in reducing acute radiation syndromes.
________________________________

Other websites describe the progress that's been made to develop anti-radiation vaccines!

So, despite the despicable nature of the two scientist who experimented on the poor man in this movie, they were actually working on something that would benefit people who might be exposed to radiation in industrial accidents or nuclear reactor mishaps.

The Monolith Monsters (1957)

~ A Question for the Members: What if a second meteorite of the strange black rock landed on Earth. but this time we weren't lucky enough to have it land in a desert region where rain is rare?

~ Here's what I came up with.: The second meteorite lands in the worst possible place on Earth — Lake Superior, the largest of he five Great Lakes!

Immersed in the fresh water, the meteor would grow rapidly until one or more giant black columns rise above the surface. Since we've seen how the columns often grow at a slight angle —

— each one would eventually topple over and sink down to the lake bed, where the horizontal columns would begin to grow in a wide "wall" shape. This would be caused by the fact that the columns wouldn't fall as hard (thanks to the water) and shatter into pieces, the way they did when they fell in the desert.

There would be no way to stop the rapid spread of the black spires as they expanded in all directions from the meteorite impact point.

The water in the lake would constantly trigger their growth, and it would also prevent any attempts to stop their expansion by using salt water, the way it was done in the desert.

I can't think of an effective defense against this geological invasion! We would not be able to turn all of Lake Superior into salt water. And we can't lay down enough salt around the entire shore line of Lake Superior, because its 2,726 miles.

Besides, all five lakes are interconnected, so a dam would have to be built between Lake Superior and its connection to lakes Huron and Michigan.

Any suggestions, folks? The fate of the world is in our hands!
Shocked

I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958)

Let's Create a Sequel!

~ A Question for the Members: After the aliens abandoned their plan to use human females to create human/alien hybrids, their fleet left Earth.

Where did they go? Their species was domed because all the females had perished (for reasons not revealed in the film)./color]

[color=darkblue]~ Here's what I came up with.: This is a much more complex movie than most folks give it credit for. Take, for example, the way the aliens masquerade as humans.

Tom Tyrone plays Gloria Talbot's human fiance, and also the alien imposter who pretends to be her husband. But he's not surgically altered to look human; he has both his alien body and a human "shell" that he controls . . . while existing inside it! Shocked

Bizarre, eh?

The movie implies that "Tom" and Gloria have sex during their year of marriage, but she doesn't get pregnant — which is what alien/Tom and his nonhuman colleagues hope will happen. Thus we can assume that the human "shell" is a human/alien hybrid itself, designed to impregnate women with hybrid babies.

We know that Tom and Gloria have actually been having sex for a year, because Gloria goes to her friendly local doctor to be tested when he doesn't get pregnant. He informs her that she's in good health and should be able to get pregnant. The Doc suggests that Tom come in and be tested as well.

I have no idea how the aliens exist "inside" the human shells, but the movie makes it clear that the aliens can "come out" of the shells and enter their spaceship, leaving the human-like shell standing at attention right outside.

My point is that, although unsuccessful as yet, the aliens possess the ability to create hybrid humans which can mimic human sex and deposit what they hoped would be hybrid sperm into the unsuspecting ladies.

A very creepy thought, eh? Confused

What if the aliens kidnapped a few dozen women when they left Earth and continued their experiments aboard their ships? And if they eventually succeeded, they could secretly return to Earth and infiltrate the population — both with aliens in human shells again, and with newly created human/alien hybrid children.

Okay, there's the premise. Anybody want to suggest what else this story might involved?
