I watched "Space Sweepers" (2021) overnight. It utterly grabbed me and intrigued me right from the beginning. Made in South Korea. Excellent in every way, including fantastic production values. It's its own story, but it contains many little homages to lots of things that came before. A little Star Wars (you think you see the Millennium Falcon, maybe, but it's not), a little Prometheus, even a very definite little Tron (the original). Plus space launch ideas from mid-century sci fi books and all kinds of neat stuff. It rockets right along too, pardon the pun. Good characters, an incredible little girl. I sat right there and watched the whole thing, over 2 hours, and enjoyed it all. _________________ May the schwartz be with you. |

PatSquire, you hit a home run with this thread-starting post for a great movie. I don't think we've talked about it on All Sci-Fi!
I spent 13 months in South Korea while I was in the Air Force, and developed great respect for the country and its people. I'm delighted that they're doing so well these days — and that they're making fine movies like this one!
Take a look at the trailer!

Okay, thanks! I've got it now.
When do you want to watch it in All Sci-Fi's Saturday Live Chat (<— link)? _________________ ____________
