The article above is very dry and technical, so I really had no idea what terahertz waves were, but it did use the word "imaging" a few times, and that made me want to know more.

So I found a video that was basically somebody's recorded lecture, accompanied by their power point presentation, but it was dry and technical too. I did catch the fact that portable terahertz wave scanners were now being used as (wait for it . . . wait for it) medical tricorders.

Bingo!

Watch these two videos (which are NOT dry and technical) and find out about the scanners doctors now use, which are basically what the doctors in Star Trek employ.
