Because the threee posts below pose some very interesting questions, such as —
~ Just How Accurate Are Science Fictional Space Battles?
~ Did Morlocks seamstresses make the clothes the Eloi wore?
~ Since The Devil Girl from Mars was based on a play, will someone turn it into musical, the way the was done for The creature from the Black Lagoon?
I really think a musical version of The Devil Girl from Mars would be a big hit. After all, she came all the way from the Red Planet to find Mr. Right. Now THAT'S a love story!

Just How Accurate Are Science Fictional Space Battles?
Strictly speaking, there's no such thing as "silent movies". as in "a movie the audience watches in complete silence".
As stated above, the old movie theaters did everything they could to provide sound effects and music while the silent movies were playing.
And that's why I agree with Krel. A movie has got to have sound, one way or another. It's just gotta.
I'm on record as not being a silent film buff, because I love the dramatic effect of sound, dialog, and music so much that it's difficult for me to enjoy the silent films.
It's a little like being asked to close one eye and watch a 3D movie.
I guess that's why I had so much fun when I spent a week collecting and posting links to old sci-fi radio shows recently, and why I listened to dozens of them in the process.
I can really enjoy a story told with audio only — no video at all — much more than I can enjoy silent movies. I'm good at imagining the video aspect of a story told with audio only, but not so good imagining what I would be hearing if a silent movie weren't silent.
Maybe that's why I'm a writer. Hmmm. What do you guys think? ____________________________________________________________________

The mind boggles. I can imagine two sophisticated theater goers, all dressed up to go out, with the chauffeur holding the door of the Rolls Royce while they discuss how they'll spend their evening.
"Harold, my darling, which production did you say we were going to tonight? Was it Hamlet or Devil Girl from Mars?"
"Oh good heavens, Gwendolyn, I couldn't sit through Hamlet again if you spiked my caviar!"
"Yes, of course, Darling! I couldn't agree more. And the critics are simply raving about Devil Girl. Something about the star having great 'gams', whatever that means."
"That's just how critics talk, My Love. Don't give it a thought."
"Well, I suppose your right, Harold. Uh, James? To the theater, please. And hurry. I want get there in time to see what everyone's wearing."

8 questions about the Morlocks I want answered!
(I started this as a new thread because it takes so long to load The Time Machine thread, with all those pictures.)
They're crude, they're blue, and they're ugly. They have very nasty eating habits, they don't like the light, but they're partial to blonds. In fact, they can't get enough of 'em.
But other than that, what do we really know about the Morlocks? They operate machines, they use tools, and they build underground habitats. But we'd all like to know the answers to the following questions — and many others!
1. How many other Morlock communities were there worldwide?
2. What was the social structure like? (Were there ranks, job assignments, bosses and subordinates?)
3. Did they have a language? (We heard them grunt, but they must be able to communicate if they have machines and tools, right?)
4. Where were all the female and young Morlocks? ("Hi, honey, I'm home. What's for dinner? Ha-ha, just kidding!")
5. Did they mate with the Eloi? (You know, dinner and sex — only not in that order.)
6. Were there Morlock-Eloi hybrids? (Morloi? Elocks?)
7. Were there any good Morlocks? ("We really shouldn't eat those nice people. Let's raise sheep instead.")
And finally, there's this puzzling item.
8. Are the two Morlocks shown below the direct descendants of Paul Williams and that Muppet, or is it just a fluke of evolution?
