From IMDB: A scientist accused of murder uses his professional knowledge to prove his innocence.

Well, for 14-word summary, that's not too bad.
Here's the superior All Sci-Fi version.
Dr. Tom Mathews (Howard Duff) and his sexy wife (Christine Larson) are shocked when he's charged with the murder of Dr. Joel Kerwin (Edward Earle) in his room at the hotel where they were both staying during a scientific conference.
Earlier, Dr. Kerwin received a phone which seemed to be from Howard Duff, asking him meet to discuss an important matter. But it wasn't really Duff's character, it was a convincing imitation.
And that, folks, is the crux of this story. The bad guys have devised an electronic device that can dublicate any man's voice over the phone! Those damned commie bastards!
So, this is a hi-tech murder mystery in which the Good Guys have to figure out how the Bad Guys are faking phone calls to do dirty deeds that harm America! _________________ ____________
