The Primevals, March 11, 2024.

Plot: After a Yeti is killed by a group of Sherpas, a team of university scientists travel to Nepal to find the origin of the creature.

Teaming with a rugged tracker, they discover a hidden primeval land populated by prehistoric creatures, ancient hominids, and a mysterious reptilian species.

This movie was first conceived in the late 1960s by noted stop-motion animator David Allen (1944~1999). The project filmed a promo reel in order to garner funding. The film languished in development-hell for many years, until it was finally completed long after Allen's passing. That it finally got made at all took Herculean efforts by many talented and persistent folks.

God Gawd A'Mighty, I confess I'd never even heard of this movie until today when my good friend Mike (Pow) made me aware of it — an act which rates alongside giving fire to mankind and the discovery of penicillin! Shocked

The trailer and the synopsis on Wikipedia sent goosebumps up my arms and made me glad I'd survived for 76 years to witness the creation of a movie which equals my own brilliant sci-fi concepts over the last three-quarters of a century! Cool

That's hard to believe, right? Heck, I was both delighted . . . and jealous as hell. Sad

Here's what Wikipedia says about it.

The Primevals is a 2023 American science fiction fantasy adventure film from Full Moon Entertainment, co-written and directed by David Allen, and starring Juliet Mills. The film was a passion project for stop motion animator Allen and completed posthumously after over 50 years in development.

Okay, that moving statement is worthy of some manly tears on my part. I mean . . . damn . . . Sad

But check out the premise!

Premise

After a Yeti is killed by a group of Sherpa, a team of university scientists travel to Nepal to find the origins of the creature. Teaming up with a rugged tracker, the group set out from the Sherpa village and, after a large avalanche, discover a hidden primeval land populated by prehistoric creatures, ancient hominids, and an alien reptilian species

That amazing concept surpasses the "Lost World" ideas I've been describing in great detail (and illustrating) right here on All Sci-Fi for several years. Very Happy

Please take note that the DVD and BD will be released on September 10th . . . and I've already pre-ordered it from Amazon. <— link Mr. Green

Barring a heart attack or stroke, I'll be able to enjoy this delightful blast-from-the-past before I go to heaven and find out that (unfortunately) I'll be spending eternity in a much warmer environment . . . Crying or Very sad
