This is a printed kit I bought a few years ago.

All the parts came Printed but I swapped in some metal and plastic. I built it as a dummy hero.

Overall its an excellent kit, it scales out perfect and the shapes are idealized to the props used on the show.
It has none of the wonkiness of the actual props.

The print was very fine, a coat of primer and paint gave a
very nice surface.

After I finished it, one of the heros was sold at auction and it
had the blue watch crown on top of the phaser 1, like the photo's in "The Making of Star Trek". I decided to add one.
All my other phasers don't have the crown so I figured This one should.

I think its done now!

Nicely done! Never built any of the hand prop models like this and the tricorder myself but your build makes me want to build one.

I have a few of repros of original series and new gen props. Some day I'll post a few pics of them.

Question???

How many of you have drunk and eaten at QUARKS' BAR at the STAR TREK EXPERIENCE at the Las Vegas Hilton?

Me and my family had a great lunch with a couple Klingons, Ferengi and Andorions . Who would have known that Klingon Gach tasted like spaghetti and blood worms like Italian sausages ??

Great vacation!

Have you had a great Star Trek experience??

I've also had a lot of great memories from various ST Conventions. What are yours????

I loved Quarks!

I drank with a female Vulcan, Ferengi, and a Klingon.
I saw an Andorian there once but he was gone before I could talk to him.

A great place, I miss it.

Walking around the Enterprise D was always worth the trip.

I got these at The Star Trek Experience in the late '90s.

The communicator is the 1st good "prop" toy I found.
It's a fat bottom comm, which was the belief at that time.
It has lights, spinning morie, and sound effects.

Prior to this all we had were convention garage kits and the Playmates toys. This was a huge step forward, the price showed it at $75.

The phaser is a squirt gun and is not bad at all. It was $15 if I remember correctly.

These were the start of my obsession with TOS props. My collection has grown considerably....

Some toys, some replicas, some very accurate to the props
used on the show.

On a TOS prop note.

The Wand Co is finally ready to start selling their working TOS tricorder to go with their phaser and communicator.
$350. It's taken over 5 years but soon it will be on display on my shelf!

My wife says I have too many phasers,
but can you really have too many phasers?

You never know when a Gorn is around the corner.

Gord,

I would love to see what prop replicas you have!

Please post photos if you can!
