| Actually fusion reactors are not illegal to own, fission reactors are. The difference is the amount of fissionable materials, fusion reactors 0, fission reactors buttloads. |

Actually, you could expend a lot of money, and time in court trying to get Uncle Sam to admit that. Then if you loose, it's vacation time at Club Fed!
Just remember, as a private citizen, your resources, and the money to defend yourself is limited. But Uncle Sam has the public forum, all the Federal Agents, and all the money in the Treasury to prosecute you.
