Scientist Robert Hutton ("The Colossus of New York") develops a process that rejuvenates dead flesh, enabling him to revive the severed heads of lab monkeys.
A millionaire with a brain tumor persuades him to revive the head of the legendary prophet Nostradamus ("The Man Who Saw Tomorrow") so that the prophet's brain can replace the millionaire's.
(That's right — he wants to replace his own brain. There's a joke about a blonde that wants to do this so she'll be smart, but we won't go into that now.)
The process works, and the bearded head of Nostradamus ends up on a lab table making feeble attempts to talk the scientist out of continuing this hideous experiment.
I swear to God, I'm not making this up.
When they finally graft the head onto the millionaire's body, the head is wrapped in a huge box-shaped mass of bandages, with a hole for the face.
Incredibly ridiculous.
The Nostradamus-head-with-a-new-body goes berserk, breaks out of the clinic, makes his way to a church, and hangs himself so efficiently that the rope yanks the head off and leaves it dangling.
No attempt at art or style is made by co-directors Charles Saunders and Lee Wilder (Billy's brother), no noteworthy special effects are presented, and no weirdly lit laboratory scenes are shown.
"The Man Without a Body" is a movie without a leg to stand on.
(I just couldn't resist that last remark . . . ) _________________ ____________

YouTube doesn't have the movie, but they do have the trailer, and that's probably as far you'll want to go with this wacky film.
But trailers for bad movies are often great trailers, so enjoy this one.

Well bless my sould, YouTube now DOES have the movie!
The picture quality isn't all that good — but don't worry, you won't watch ALL of it. Just enough in the last six minutes to see that the "monster makeup" for this laughable looser consists of nothing but a cardboard box with bandages glued around it and a square whole in the front to allow the audience to glimpse the face of Nostradamus — a totally immobile mask making nothing but low moaning sounds, and with no closeups!

I just watched this for the first (and last) time a couple of weeks ago.
Wow! What a stinking heap of distended rectum
This movie is boring. Really boring...and ridiculous.
I wonder how many times George Coulouris sat huddled in a corner during production muttering "I was in Citizen Kane! What did I do to deserve this?" _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |

I'm suppose George just sort of . . . lost his head. _________________ ____________

I guess, like Nostradamus, I shoulda saw that coming.
Guess I'll have to hang my head in shame. _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |
