Oh, what the hell, let's take our spaceship and fly around the damn thing — with dramatic music!

By they way, if you're wondering if you could walk around normally on this thing, the answer is yes and no. Yes, you could walk around on it — but no, you couldn't walk normally.

The surface gravity is 0.029 of Earth normal, so a 180 pound man would weigh a little more than five pounds. But a space suit weighs another 180 pounds, so the total weight would be 10 pounds.

That's enough to hold you to the surface . . . as long as don't jump too hard.
Very Happy

It always amazes me to see how thoroughly covered in craters the moons and asteroids are. Space has a whole lot more stuff floating around in it than most folks realize!

Science Fiction connections for these Science Facts

We all know and love the movies that take us on voyages to Mars and Venus and Altair 4, but there are several movies that portrayed voyages to space objects like Ceres — those not-quite-planets — like moons, asteroids, and even comets.

Enjoy the trailers, and feel free to discuss these movies right here or in their threads by clicking on the titles.

And add your own suggestions, too!
Cool
