Okay, here's a weird little mystery.

The trailer below (and 20 others on YouTube) is for a movie slated to be released in 2013 . . . but it wasn't.

Nobody seems to know why.

IMDB has a page for "The Prototype" dated 2013, but it's listed as an 18-minute short, and it isn't written and directed by Andrew Will (who's listed as writer/director on ComingSoon.net, and in the YouTube titles for the trailers).

IMDB also has a listing for a film with this title dated 2017, but it isn't by Andrew Will either, and the plot is very different from the one shown in the trailer.

So, what happened to this movie?

Deadline Hollywood has a 2013 article about plans to turn the teaser trailer into a feature film, but that's all I've been able to find.

This seems like one of those mysteries wrapped in an enigma surrounded by a conundrum embedded in a puzzle kinda thing!
