I loved this movie! Marvel is doing some amazing stuff. Their movies tend to range from good to great.

And just so this post will have an appropriate picture, here's two of Scarlett Johansson, Esquire's Sexiest Woman in the World in both 2006 and 2013.

Loved TA! However,I had to laugh at one scene intended to be highly dramatic.

TA are standing in a circle back-to-back as they face the alien hordes onslaught.

And it is dramatic as they do a close up of each Avenger.
But it cracked me up when they got to Natasha. Human, no powers, holding a single pistol in her hand.

Did I ever complain about his movie costume? Anywhere? I said he lacked a helmet.

I'd say Hot Toys did a pretty good job.

Pretty much all the other Asgard movie characters had helmets. (And they did give us the long, flowing locks in the later movies.)

Robert Downey, Jr. kept food hidden all over the lab set, and apparently nobody could find where it was, so they just let him continue doing it. In the movie, that's his actual food he's offering, and when he was eating, it wasn't scripted, he was just hungry.

Note from me: I'm tinkled pink to learn that Robert is just as quirky and funny as Tony Stark, Sherlock Holmes, and Robert's other characters. Very Happy

There were very few times that everyone was in town at once, but on one night when they were, Chris Evans sent them all a text message simply saying "Assemble" (the tagline to the movie), prompting a night out on the town. Clark Gregg has stated that this is his favorite text message that he has ever received.

Note from me: Another example of Robert's true nature. Hit wit and his wonderfully oddball character isn't just acting based on a script.

Clint Barton (Hawkeye) is an ambidextrous archer (although Jeremy Renner is left-handed). He is seen shooting right-handed in Thor (2011) and both left-handed and right-handed in this film.

Note from me: I'm puzzled by this statement. I own two bows, and I know that they're made to be held in the left hand and fired with the right. My fondness for archery prompted me to create The Bowmen, the teenage superheroes in my novel,

Is Hawkeye's bow designed to hold the arrows on either side? Would both sides really line up correctly? Seems unlikely.

(At around thirty-nine minutes) The German police car skidding on its front end after Loki blasts it was a complete accident, as it failed to flip over initially.

Note from me: When I saw that scene of the car nose-surfing down the road, I was amazed! I wondered if it was CGI or a carefully planned stunt. I'm surprised that it was neither of those.

(At around fifty-three minutes) According to Joss Whedon's commentary, Bruce Banner's saying of Loki, "You can smell crazy on him", was a set-up for when the Hulk faces off against Loki in Stark Tower. Originally, Loki was going to make multiple versions of himself, and the only way the Hulk was going to discern where Loki was, was to smell them. Only the real Loki would have a scent.

Note from me: This would have been a great set up for the scene in which the Hulk grabs Loki's ankles and slaps him back and forth against the floor like a wet towel. But I wouldn't want to cut out the moment just before that happened, when Loki starts bragging to Loki about what apowerful Norse god he was.

Bud, I'm left-handed, and when I was taught to shoot a bow at summer camp back in the 60s, they had an ambidextrous bow. The hand-grip had wings on both sides of the grip. I was also taught to shoot right-handed with a bow.

This movie also makes Tony the most human of the characters, as he suffers consequences for his actions. The later movies show that he is suffering for PTSD.

Interesting. I didn't know there were ambidextrous bows. It seems like one of the two wings wouldn't line up just right . . . or maybe both of them would be a little off.

My more expensive bow has a pistol grip that feels great in my left hand. It wouldn't work at all in my right. Ambidextrous bows don't have these, I guess.

The pistol grip on my bow feels so good in my hand it's like copping a feel from teenage cheerleader in the back seat of a '57 Chevy! The bow came had a warning label on the box.

"Do not hold this bow while one Viagra." Wink

Bows like the one the boy is shown with in the jpeg I posted above, along with the two below, are similar to my less fancy one, with a grip that isn't fashioned to fit one hand specifically. So, I can easily imagine them having a "shelf" for arrows on both sides.

I don't know the actual name for a bow's "arrow holder", but I'm sure it's a better than "arrow holder". Rolling Eyes

(Okay, I just looked it up. It's the "arrow rest". The author of The Hero Experience ought to know technical archery stuff like that. Wink

)

I discovered that Amazon sells an absolutely gorgeous bow with right and left arrow rest for $89!

This thing is so good lookin' I might just buy it, along with a stuffed deer head to mount on my living room wall right above the bow. I can tell chicks who come over that I shot it while on a dangerous safari in the North Carolina woods.

When they chastise me for killing Bambi, I'll tell 'em the deer had rabbis and it killed three people before I was able to bring the beast down! Shocked
