10 Actors We Want To See In A Forbidden Planet Reboot
https://screenrant.com/forbidden-planet-reboot-fancast-actors/
Forbidden Planet is one of those incredible sci-fi films that changed cinema. If it were rebooted it would need a stellar cast. Here are some ideas.
Do you agree? Who else do you think would be good for the various roles? _________________ ____________

A few of the actors the article suggests as replacements aren't too bad, but I'm not sure about the ideas to "expand the roles" with things like having Youngerford become "angry about his reprimand and subsequent punishment and does something rash that ends up putting the crew in further danger."
Seems like this would be "gilding the lily", inserting melodrama to make the characters more contemporary and less like well-disciplined military men from a future society, similar to TOS.
David Tennant as the low-brow Cook doesn't seem like a good idea. Tennant is undoubtedly a fine actor, but casting a man famous for playing an extremely intelligent person as a character who's comically simple seems like a bad idea.
Casting Margot Robbie as Altaira doesn't seem quite right. Maybe it's just me, but she just doesn't look much like an extremely sweet, naive, 20-year old.

In 1955 Marx Toys was in negotiation to market a Forbidden Planet plat set. The deal failed.
These I bought from a toy collector that I go to university with and who lives in Seattle.
The set:
The house:
The house with the Commander John. Justin Adams figure:
I would have loved to have the missing figures of Robby, Alta, Dr. Morbius, Robby's jeep and the Id monster!
The box:
Bonus Forbidden Planet By The Headless Girl:

I don't know if you're playing alternate history or serious.
If serious, pardon a healthy dose of skepticism on my part as to the authenticity of this claim. Caveat emptor.
First, those pix of the items are the exact photos seen on this Worthpint page (link)
Second, while Worthpoint won't let me see the date of the sale since I don't have an account, the description on it matches that shared on this blog post almost exactly 4 years ago (link), so it's safe to assume the ebay auction Worthpoint mentions is that same one from 2016.
Third, that text on both sites has the unfortunate qualification of "It is thought They were for a Forbidden Planet Play Set that Never got Made." Which isn't the same thing as proof that it was. But on the plus side it ads, "All have Marx's Invoice Numbers on Them."
Fourth, that long box you shared pix of isn't in the auction photos, and says "Plasco Toys" not Marx. And when I did some looking the box design looks to be the work of some guy named Alan Lortz, who apparently has a company called Little Toy Maker, which does recreations of Marx packaging (link) and creates packages in that style for properties Marx never had, such as this James Bond box (link) which has a description that includes "Marx never made this play set box, but we've gotten so many requests from collectors who have created play sets based on classic movies and adventure films, that we've begun creating play set boxes for them". See this suspiciously similar Turok Son of Stone longbox (link) and closer angles of the box here (link) with style that is too close to that purported FB box to be a coincidence. _________________ * * *

That is a reproduction of the box for the Gilbert 007 Road Race set. It is considered the toy that brought down the Gilbert toy company. Due to a contractual obligation to Sears, Gilbert had to release the set before all the bugs were worked out. Most didn't work properly and were returned, causing a HUGE financial hit to the Gilbert company.

If you have the set, why not take some original photos of it? _________________ * * *

It looks like that group of toys sold last on Ebay for about $250.
A lot of prototype hand made or re-carved toys were produced by the toy manufactures to promote proposed lines. The Netflix series on The Toys That Made Us documented many of them. Unfortunately MARX hasn't been done yet. _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |

The box art for the one Eadie posted is hideous. It looks like something a 4th grader would draw! It obviously wasn't professional done.
On the long side of the box, in the right corner, it says —
Set includes:
~ Figures
~ Id Monster
~ Playmat
~ Rocket
~ Rocks
On that same side of the box, on either side of the words "Forbidden Planet" is a rocket and what appears to be the Metaluna Mutant. (I could be mistaken.) _________________ ____________

A few more Robbys from the 50's!
Most are from a Las Vegas parade. Robby rides the float preceeded by a disintegrator cannon and followed by a mock-up of the C-57d while getting visits from assorted kids and showgirls!
