______
In the 1920s H. C. McNeile created Bulldog Drummond, a crimefighter who became so popular that his image was periodically updated in each subsequent decade to fit the changing times.
In the 1960s Drummond naturally became a secret agent. Richard Johnson starred in two Drummond films, Deadlier than the Male and Some Girls Do. In this first one, Johnson is pitted against Nigel Green (Jason and the Argonauts, The Wrecking Crew), a villain with a team of female assassins, two of which are played by Elke Sommer and Sylva Koscina.
Plenty of action is supplied by Jimmy Sangster's script and Ralph Thomas' direction. And of course the story includes an abundance of spy gadgets and girl scenery. _________________ ____________

Well now, here's an unexpected treat from YouTube — an excellent video of the full movie, in widescreen and with a great picture. I made this screen shot from it.
Enjoy the trailer and then the movie.

Now this is ironic. Back when Sean Connery was swearing he'd never reprise 007 again, I began sizing up my personal replacement candidates. Richard Johnson was one of my initial choices. I had no idea he'd actually played a secret agent.
Then in my research I discover he'd been married to Kim Novak. Well, any friend of Kim... _________________ ...or not...
