Whit Bissell as a mad scientist!

He's a descendant of Dr. Frankenstein (naturally) who creates a burly, barrel-chested monster with googly eyes and a mangle face like a wrinkled wad of paper. The doctor's unsuspecting fiance is played by Phyllis Coates, the first Lois Lane on TV's Superman. He uses a captive alligator to dispose of unwanted raw material (and unwanted lab assistants).

Unsatisfied with his creation's face, the doctor sends the monster out to find a better one. The monster knows right where to look for young healthy males -- Lover's Lane, where Gary Conway ("Burke's Law") is romancing his true love. Conway looses his head, the monster gets a knew one, and the doctor makes an unsuccessful attempt to blend his masterpiece into normal society.

A lurid and predictably popular hit from the decade that explored every weird idea it could come up with. Directed by Herbert L. Strock.

Let's start with a confession.

I finally saw this movie about three months ago for the first time in my life. Holy cow, eh? Shocked

Imagine my surprise when I spotting the mysterious Gizmo as a prop used in this movie, the strange device I was convinced for months was created for Forbidden Planet

— and which turned out to have a history dating back to the 1930's serial Mandrake the Magician!

Anyway, the movie was enjoyable silliness, and I was glad I finally got to see it. To commemorate the event, please enjoy the trailer, with my compliments. Very Happy

IMDB has the item below about the release of this movie and the amusing tag line the used to promote it. Very Happy

American International Pictures released this film to many drive-in theaters on a double bill with Blood of Dracula (1957) with the tag line: "Warning! Can You Take It? Fiendish! Frenzied! Frightening! It Will Haunt You For Days Afterwards!"
