_____

[Also released as: "Blood of Frankenstein" and "They're Coming to Get You"]

Chemical pollutants in the ocean contaminate the fish eaten by the inhabitants of an island, causing their faces to become bloated and deformed.

A doctor (Ian Bannen) and a military officer (George Sanders, in one of his last roles) investigate the tragedy.

The makeup is good, but there's little excitement in this sci-fi mystery. Also starring Judy Geeson ("To Sir With Love") and Simon Oates. Directed by Peter Sasdy.

This is a rarity . . . a British horror movie that I like.

I tend to get suckered into British horror and sci-fi and I'm usually disappointed. I recently got this on BD and I found it quite engaging.

As per the synopsis in the first post, this doesn't fit into a normal horror or sci-fi category. There are no elements of the supernatural or future science. But it does a good job of keeping the viewers attention with some pretty scary stuff.

By God, Brent, I admire your dedication to Blu-ray!

If it's a "movie" of any kind and somebody releases it on BD, I think you'd buy it and get a bigger house if your old one ran out of room! Shocked

You, sir, are the honorary Scrooge McDuck of Blu-ray collectors! Cool

I'm green with envy . . .

It might seem that way but the truth is that my collection is limited to almost entirely small movies and oddities.

Want to see RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK on BD? I don't own it. LORD OF THE RINGS? Not in my collection. AVATAR, STAR WARS, STAR TREK, JURASSIC PARK, HARRY POTTER? Nope, nope, nope, nope and nope. I have none of them.

Want to see THE BAMBOO SAUCER, ZAAT, FIREMAIDENS OF OUTER SPACE, ZETA ONE, DARK STAR or GALAXY OF TERROR? Then I'm the guy.

This seems like a pretty tense movie, based on the trailer. Might be interesting. If you think so too, here's the movie, complements of YouTube.

The TV show's compelling. Maybe one day fans can remake the missing episodes using available scripts, preferably still set in the early 1970s.
