Okay, would somebody pa—lease explain this movie to me? The story went over my head at such a high altitude I heard the sound of the engines after it went over the horizon.
All I remember is a few scenes of buildings collapsing (off in the distance) and a guy running around in a creepy mask and a Flamenco dancer's outfit. There's a rebellion afoot because the government really sucks.
A woman is imprisoned and tortured by the government, who want her to tell them where Mr. Creepy Mask (aka V) is located, but she refuses and they release her — because it was really V who did the torturing — to make her stronger.
Gee, I have a gym membership for that — but to be honest, sometimes it feels like torture, so maybe that would really work.
Actually that's just one example of the wacky things this wacko movie does. The ending is so nutty the audience leaves the theater looking like victims of a dandruff epidemic, everybody scratching their heads and wondering if the projectionist got drunk and showed the reels in the wrong order.
Anybody else feel this way about the movie? If not . . . why? _________________ ____________

I'm still hoping somebody will illuminate me concerning the plot of this movie and the message it delivers. I don't get either one.

Something about a character who calls himself "V", patterned after Guy Fawkes, plotting to overthrow a totalitarian British government of the future through the use of explosives, public sentiment, and help from a woman named Evey. _________________ ...or not...

V: A really stupid movie. Still, it was apparently appealing to certain types of people. For example, many pre-election anti-Trump rallies were populated by troublemaking louts wearing the same kind of masks. |
