Okay, so that's the Science. Now let's add the Fiction!
________________________________
A simple idea here; the police are investigation a "suicide" that might actually be a murder. The clever detective realizes that the keyboard can be used to determined who actually typed the suicide note!
Result: It wasn't typed by the deceased, it was typed by his unscrupulous business partner who wanted to cover up his embezzling activities and marry the widow, so he could be the sole owner of the business and gain access to the murdered man's assets, one of which is the lovely widow, if you catch my drift . . .
Anybody got another story idea? One with even more sex, greed, and violence? _________________ ____________

What I get from the article is that the identity detection is more for security, like a password. It prevents unauthorized users from accessing somebody else's data. _________________ ...or not...

Ah-ha. Good point. But of course we're talking about a story inspired by the concept of a keyboard with such abilities, not necessarily a story that uses that exact same system.
Still, it's easy to make the security angle work just was well. In fact, even better!
A keyboard like that could be designed to work with more than one user (just like a computer with multiple passwords for different authorized users). So, the detective would determine that the murder was actually authorized to use the keyboard, and his typing style (and therefore his identity) was recognized by the keyboard when he typed the fake suicide note, even though he put his victims name at the bottom!
In effect, the murder left his "fingerprints" at the scene of the crime — the fact that he was an authorized user of the keyboard and it let him type the note proved he could have done it, and the keyboard even "marked" the note as his work, sort of like your computer tracts your browsing history. _________________ ____________

"And unfortunately, they don't elaborate on how much power you can generate if you're an exceptionally fast typist, like some of these prodigies. But they did note in the study that "even a sweaty hand can barely degrade the output performance". (This relates to the generation of electricity and the keyboard's ability to identify the user)."
BEWARE! It works by stealing your life force! RUN FOR YOU LIVES!
There's your story Bud, a device that slowly drains you of life, as you as you type. As the bodies pileup, the Police are puzzled, the medical authorities are stymied. The architects of the device watch from the shadows biding their time, as the Old Ones greedily feed on the life force of their victims!
