What I want to see offered on cars is a heads-up display that highlights pot holes. It shouldn't be too difficult to rig some kind of scanner (like microwaves) to detect vertical anomalies in a horizontal surface. The heads-up display would be the bigger challenge. _________________ ...or not...

HUDs have been proposed (and placed on prototypes) for over a decade. Unfortunately the TSB always nixes them. The same goes for flying cars. trying to get ATSB and the TSB to agree IS impossible. _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |

My wish list has long been for something car makers diligently detract from. How hard would it be to make cars with thick and inexpensive rubber coated spring loaded bumpers that can easily take a 5 mph collision without doing any damage to either vehicle? I was driving little theme park cars that did this half a century ago. Today's bumpers will absorb a fair bit of shock, but you'll always be out the better part of a grand for repairs afterword.
For that matter, I wouldn't mind a spring rubber strip that runs entirely around the perimeter of the car, thus eliminating car door dents and scratches. Will we ever see these things? Not a chance. |

He's your body guard, too. Nobody messes with the Ambassador. (Or his girlfriend!)

Not unless you want a car that looks like an amusement park bumper car. |
