__________
Before Courtney Cox had a bunch of close Friends, she hung out with crime fighting mutants with strange powers.
Hey, who knew?
_____________
I've never watched this series, but I might give it a whirl with the DailyMotion versions I found. Several IMDB users give it glowing recommendations, so perhaps it has some real merit. I hope so.
Here's the ninety minute pilot.

________________________________
IMDB only has 9 trivia items for this series, but a few of them are noteworthy.
________________________________
~ A double-length pilot and 15 additional episodes were created. However, one episode did not air before the show was cancelled due to low ratings because of competition from CBS's Top 10 hit Dallas.
Note from me: Good lord, back in those days nothin' could compete with Dallas!
~ Episode 9 was the first paid writing job for Tim Kring, who later originated and produced the thematically similar Heroes in 2006.
Note from me: Heroes is an awesome series. The finale was a bit weak, but otherwise I loved it.
~ The name "Misfits of Science" and other conceptual ideas were the brainchild of then-president of NBC Entertainment, Brandon Tartikoff. He said of the show "We'll rely on the National Enquirer for story ideas. It's loosely inspired by the dynamics we saw in Ghostbusters... sort of a kick-back, Friday type of show."
Note from me: It sounds like Mr. Tartikoff had good intentions for this series.
~ The group drive around in a "Fundae Sundae" ice cream truck because they needed it to haul "The Ice Man" in the pilot episode. The character was dropped, but they kept the truck.
Note from me: A super-cool superhero who rides around in a refrigerated ice cream truck. That's terrific!
~ The pilot episode featured a character called "ice man" but he was dropped from future appearances after objections from Marvel as they had a similar character of the same name.
Note from me: I'm not familiar with that Marvel character . . . but he sure sounds cool. (Ouch! . . . sorry. :oops)
~ In an interview in Starlog 124 (published November 1987), Courteney Cox revealed that she was auditioning for a part on Code Name: Foxfire (1985) at Universal Studios when she found out they were casting Misfits of Science across the hall and decided to try out for that as well.
Note from me: One-stop-shopping for aspiring young actors. Convenient!
~ Max Wright would later go on to guest star with Courtney Cox in two episodes of Friends 9 years later, playing the owner of the Friends popular coffee-shop hangout spot, Central Perk.
Note from me: "Hey, Courtney! Remember when we were in that superhero show together?"
"No . . . and I don't want to talk about it." _________________ ____________
