Someday I'm going to watch this movie all the way through!
I'm not promising to enjoy it . . . just to endure it.

IMDB has 112 trivia items for this movie. Here’s a few of the ones I found the most interesting, in the blue text.
________________________________
~ Carol's line "I've seen you naked! You think I wouldn't recognize you because you covered your cheekbones!" was an ad-lib by Blake Lively.
Note from me: Ah-ha! So THAT'S why Lois never recognized Superman when he wore the glasses! She'd never seen him naked!
~ The Green Lantern uniform is portrayed in computer-generated imagery; this was a creative move by the filmmakers, who wanted the uniform not to be a real cloth outfit but an energy construct generated by the Lantern power ring. Notably the comics originally started with Hal Jordan having an actual uniform, but later this was amended.
Note from me: One thing I like about The Flash series is that they indicate that Flash is the only superhero who can change in and out of his custom in a fraction of a second. Anybody else . . . needs a phone booth, at least.
~ Martin Campbell heavily criticized the studio for hacking the film to pieces during the editing process, which he claims resulted in the omission or alteration of numerous elements which would have made for a stronger film.
Note from me: I wonder what the meddling editors think about the results of their work . . . and the money that was lost.
~ The first action of Hal Jordan as Green Lantern is saving Senator Hammond of a helicopter accident. This is a nod for Superman (1978), where the first action of Clark Kent as Superman is saving Lois Lane of a helicopter accident.
Note from me: Clever wording. If the author had wanted to be less kind he could have said the helicopter rescue was "ripped off" from Superman: The Movie. _________________ ____________

True, this film didn't quite rise to expectations...And there are many faults....
BUT....
I first saw this film in 3=D IMAX and the effects just popped and took over my senses.
Watching it in just 2-D on my widescreen TV just couldn't match the original experience. _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |

I know what you mean.
I watch Avatar in Imax 3D several times at the theater, and I swore I'd never buy the Blu ray because I knew it just wouldn't measure up to those experiences.
Eventually I did buy it — but I waited several years before I watched it, so that the memory of those fantastic first viewings had faded a bit. _________________ ____________
