NASA is sending a cool little helicopter to Mars in 2020!

The YouTube video below demonstrates how it will fly around in the thin Martian atmosphere and take pictures that will be used to guide the new rover that will go with the 'copter.

What a great idea. Cool

Saw this in the news the other day & thought it was very exciting.

Love the animation they use to demonstrate these NASA projects.

The amazing thing is that there is enough Martian air density to allow the heli-blades to function.

There was an earlier proposal to use a hydrogen baloon as a aerial "rover".

One of the articles says the blades turn 10 times faster than they would if the 'copter was on Earth.
