Wow! This is certainly "not your grandfather's Japanese monster movie", is it?

Having said that, I started wondering what the Japanese people who were fans of the old monster movies from 1950s and the 1960s think of the current versions.

However, it occurs to me that the people who loved the old monster movies (with the guys in the suits) are not really in the audience for these new, spectacular versions.

Time has past, and a new generation who never saw the old movies are now buying the tickets to these recent movies, so there won't actually be very many people in the audience in Japan (or anywhere else) who exclaim, "Wow, this looks a lot better than the ones I used to love so much!"

I saw this trailer at the theater a few days ago when I recently enjoyed Bumblee for the second time. This movie is looking better and better. Very Happy

This trailer is beautiful and brilliant! I love it. The use of a slow and beautiful instrumental version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbox" while we see stunning special effectrs is very effective.

I've put this movie on my Netflix list. Cool
