I just love this rocket too!
I think it was a little longer than the TEERA IV (Space Patrol) and rolled on a wheel package attached to the stern and had small "landing gear" type wheels in the bow. The trailer attachment was located in that box-like structure under the bow.

That landing gear is actually called just that on semi trailers. It's lowered to support the front end of the trailer while the trailer is detached from the tractor rig. It seems to be that the older versions had wheels, but modern designs have traded the wheels for simple pads.
And thanks for pointing me toward the "Touring Rockets" thread, Gord. It apparently was started during my hiatus, so I completely missed it.

When you think about it, the idea of a spaceship's control panel having a base made of fine wood isn't so crazy!
Think of how expensive yacht's are made. Krel's humorous comment brings up an interesting point; in the future, spacecraft will become the yachts of this hi-tech society, and they'll look like this.
I used this gorgeous painting I found on-line in The Wishbone Express Illustrated Edition to show what I had in mind for the I.S.Y Wishbone — which stands for Independently Owned StellaYacht.

I had an idea a few years ago about how to explain the fact that the "floor" in the ship's interior would be vertical after the ship lands. 
Obviously the Orbit Jet and the Silver Moon (along the other rockets we see) have artificial gravity, but how do the people manage to stroll straight out of the airlock and onto the landing platform, which would be at a 90° angle to the ship's deck?
Here's how.
The airlock is built into a rotating "drum" which turns to line up with landing platform after someone steps into it, inside the ship. The artificial gravity in the airlock means the rotation is virtually imperceptible to the occupants.
The reverse happens when somebody boards the ship; the drum rotates to line up the floor of the airlock with the "vertical" cabin floor, and they walk into the cabin.
The shots inside the ship never show the airlock at all, just the cockpit, the lounge, and the cargo area.
So, if we were designing the ship to include the airlock, we could put it beyond the cargo area, or . . . just redesign and upgrade the entire interior the way we'd want it to look back in the 1950s.
And in dong so, it would actually have "all of the luxury options, leather seats, wood interior, ect." just as Krel stated.

I've been taking a break from Space Patrol and started on Rocky Jones and am nearly on-the-floor laughing at how horribly sexist Jones is. My wife watched part of one with me and when Rocky tells Vena to "go knit me a sweater" she cracked up. Definitely not PC 
I still think most of these old, "lost" shows could be remade today with some tweaks for current/future technology and in Jones' case, attitude, and be received fairly well. Not everyone wants to watch the graphic gore and incest-rape-y stuff offered up on "hit shows" these days. *clutches pearls*

Tim, you and Auriette will enjoy the upcoming scenes in that episode, in which Rocky discovers that his condescending attitude towards Vena is totally wrong!
Vena proves herself worthy of his respecting, causing him to regret his sexist attitude. In all subsequent episodes, Rocky treats all the members of the crew with great respect — including young Bobby!
So, the episode was teaching its young male viewers that it's wrong to assume "boys can do things better the girls". That's an attitude we won't find in the shows for adults back in those days, which routinely relegated women to roles as "the weaker sex".
In other words, Rock Jones was ahead of it's time!
