I just read that Bob auditioned for the role of Robin for the 1966 TV show Batman.
Bob was a talented gymnast so he would have been perfect for the part from an athletic standpoint as well as an experienced actor.
He was told he was too old for the Robin/Dick Grayson part.
Bob was 21 at the time.
