Wow, Danilo, I had no idea that the release print was so much shorter than the initial cut. Where did you find that amazing bit of information?

Thanks for your efforts to preserve and present the scipts, Butch.
Because the jpegs are going to be in a locked thread, you can make them as large as you want. In this case, the large sizes won't be a problem.
Don't forget that Imgur will only allow you to upload 50 images in a one-hour period.
I've created two new albums in your Imgur account for the two scripts, FORBIDDEN PLANET SCRIPT 1 and FORBIDDEN PLANET SCRIPT 2. It's important for you to placed the images in there respective albums and not mix the images from the two scripts.
We're all looking forward to seeing the scripts. _________________ ____________

The year book mentioned is this:
It can only be found in very large libraries as the cost is $150.00 for past editions and $500.00 for current subscription. The only copies I've ever seen are in the library at the University of Washington and at the home library of Mike Walsh, now retired movie critic for the Vancouver, B. C. newspaper The Sun. HE photo copied the relevant pages for me.

Here's a couple of blueprints from the Bonham collection.
And the covers to the original "file copy" script and the continuity listing.

I was asked by Pye-Rate what would fireworks be like on Altair IV. The only thought I had was the attacking Id in shifting colors:
Late Addition. Pye-Rate created this:

Then in a rainbow blend! It would be, one might say, pretty but deadly! _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |

I don't know if IMDB will approve the trivia item shown below which I submitted today, but I couldn't resist taking a shot, because it's bothered me for years that the inferior special effects in The Ten Commandments received the FX Oscar in 1956 when Forbidden Planet should have been the clear winner!
Anyway, here's what I submitted.
________________________________
Although the elaborate special effects in The Ten Commandments are impressive, many film historians and movie fans feel that MGM's Forbidden Planet should have gotten the FX Oscar in 1956. However, since Forbidden Planet was basically a B movie that turned out remarkable well because the film crew exceeded the budget after they became so enthusiastic about the project, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided that Paramount's colossal religious epic was a more appropriate choice for the FX Oscar.

Ill let you folks know if they actually accept my submission. _________________ ____________

Also WHO in 1956-1957 would vote against a religious epic in communist-fearing US of A and gain the wrath of the nearly-all-powerful Cecil B. DeMille?
Besides Joshua Meador animated the "Pillar of Fire" and the "Burning Bush" sequences; so he effectively was competing with himself! _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |

I watched The Ten Commandments yesterday, and I'm surprised to learn that Meador did any of the animation. The pillar of fire and the staffs-into-cobras scenes don't hold a candle the animation in Forbidden Planet. _________________ ____________

That's a great copy too!
This is the first page.....
The dates are a bit confusing, but it looks like this is dated complete on 9/3/54.
The scripts Butch is talking about are earlier drafts from Feb 1954. _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |

This is great news, Maurice! Apparently we already have the spript available to us and we don't need Butch's long delayed version! I know he'll be pleased to learn that archive.org has saved him all that work!
Tomorrow I'll start studying the script and posting comments on it. _________________ ____________

No Bud, Butch's script is from FEBRUARY 1953, An earlier draft of the script. I would suspect it is quite different in some ways from the later September version! _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |

Yes, QUITE different. Sorry it is taking so long.
I found this in my archives. Sorry for the size. To reduce it looses detail.
I wonder if it is similar to what the EX-101 Bellerophon crew found? _________________ Common Sense ISN'T Common |

I embedded your larger version in a 700 pixel version, so you can still see the bigger one, but if you'll compare the two I think you'll find that the original really doesn't have much detail to loose. The only text that's even legible is the large title at the top. _________________ ____________
