Meanwhile in the Batcave...
Robin slams his fist into his palm...
"Holy Shucks Batman! Trekriffic is getting all our accolades!"
Batman smiles as he raises an index finger...
"That's quite alright Robin. So long as Gotham is safe it matters not who shines in the spotlight. I suggest ... a long, scenic ride in the Batmobile. It will serve to lift your spirits old chum!"
And with that, Robin flings himself into the passenger seat (remembering to fasten his seat belt) and the Dynamic Duo are off on another adventure...
Here are some quick pix I took until I can get my garage photo shop set up with all the pipes, lights, and backdrops. Then I'll have better lit pix to show everyone...

"Gosh, Batman, a nice scenic ride would be a great idea! It's just after sunset and we could cruise down to Mel's Drive-In for a bit to eat. The guys with the custom cars always go crazy over the Batmobile!"
"That's true, old chum. And as I remember, even the young ladies fawn over it. But I'm sure you already thought of that."
(Yes, Trekriffic, that IS your model! Click on the image above to see a 2,000 pixel version.) _________________ ____________

Parked at the local drive-in, Robin orders a Dynamic Duo, Mel's special burger and fries. Batman opts for a Caped Crusader shake.
The orange beehived, long-legged carhop stops cracking her gum long enough to say...
“Mel says your money’s no good here Batman. You guys want anything else from the menu? It’s on the house.”
Robin fairly leaps out of his seat!
“I’d like a Mr Freeze Cone for dessert please!”
Batman turns to shoot Robin a disapproving look.
“No young lady, we’ll pay our way, just like any other good citizen of Gotham City. Nonetheless, please express our appreciation to Mel for the offer.”
She shrugs before spinning and skating back to the kitchen window. Several young patrons exit the cafe to oggle at the Batmobile and its occupants...
Robin is chagrined.
“Holy Dessert Denial Batman! Couldn’t you keep your mouth shut just this once?!”
Batman is taken aback.
“I’ll chock your insolent tone up to having consumed too much sugar already today. But not to worry old chum, I’ll gladly buy you a Mister Freeze Cone.”
Robin’s mood brightens instantly...
“Gee thanks Batman! You’re swell!”
Batman nods as he motions the carhop to the door of the Batmobile...
“Please add one Mister Freeze Cone to our order.”
“What flavor?”, she asks.
“Joker’s Mint!”, blurts Robin.
“Got it!”, she says and rolls over to the next car.
Batman and Robin smile as they share a relaxing moment.
Yes, a nice drive in the country had been just what they’d needed... |

Here are some finished photos of the Batmobile...
The fit of the parts was horrible but, overall, I was pleased with the final result.
