Which science fiction movies do you think have presented a bright future for mankind most effectively? I'm looking for movies that present an optimistic future, not a depressing apocalyptic vision.
A few movies which could be included could present a version of the future that isn't totally optimistic, like Beyond the Time Barrier, which offers hope for the human race in it's final scene.
I'll kick things off with my two personal favorites.
Forbidden Planet (1956)
Avatar (2009)

How about 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), 2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) and Mission to Mars (2000)? _________________ ____________

To some extent I would have to include most of the STAR TREK movies! _________________ There comes a time, thief, when gold loses its lustre, and the gems cease to sparkle, and the throne room becomes a prison; and all that is left is a father's love for his child. |
