… there were other tragedies that affected us. Tmorrow , April 15th, is the 108th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic.
The iceberg thought to have been hit by Titanic, photographed the morning of 15 April 1912 by SS Prinz Adalbert's chief steward. The iceberg was reported to have a streak of red paint from a ship's hull along its waterline on one side.:

One of Butch's grandmothers was a 2nd class survivor and her life ring which she carried because she couldn't swim has been passed down to me, It took quite a search to finf a good picture as the original life ring has faded in color:

The photo is a modern fake. The Titanic's actual life preservers were plain white with no lettering.

I didn't say that was my life ring, only the best picture I could find. This is closer to what I have (This is not mine, I don't have access to as it is in a museum vault.):
