Talk about a feat of strength.

The Seinfeld holiday of Festivus, which audiences first heard about 23 years ago this month in the episode “The Strike,” has managed to stay on the calendar. Fans of the show will recall that, according to the script, George’s dad Frank Costanza (played by the late Jerry Stiller) founded the holiday as a way of rebelling against the commercialism and forced cheer of the season.

It begins not with a toast to friends and family members but an airing of grievances, and its signature symbol is a bare aluminum pole rather than a decked-out Christmas tree. Celebrated each Dec. 23, Festivus is, in fact, especially relevant in a year in which many of us find ourselves separated from loved ones and reeling from loss.

Therefore I have my pole fully erect and I am ready to express my grievances and to say "Fuctus Sum" to the world of 2020, and "That which does not kill us makes us stronger!" to the brave new world of 2021!

But... to you others...MERRY CHRISTMAS...HAPPY CHANUCKA.... A GOOD KWANZA...Merry Saternalia .....Or whatever solstis recognition you realize!

May you find peace, prosparity and happiness in the year before us!
