Krel, I appreciate the clarification. I certainly agree that Lucas has done more than just juice up a few scenes that he wasn't happy with in 1977.
That video you posted a link for about the "lost" original Star Wars included a discussion of original scenes that were replaced with CGI or simply removed and NOT replaced, even when the original scenes were beautifully done.
Examples of scenes that were unnecessarily replaced with CGI are the scenes of the X-Wing fighters approaching the Death Star, moving toward the camera, followed by the great shot of the fighters from the rear as the X-wings open up.
The original FX are beautiful, and fans wish they hadn't been replaced it, because we have very fond memories of those two shots. _________________ ____________
