In this time-travel / comedy, an arrogant 12th century knight and his humble, bumbling-fool servant seek the help of a wizard to send them back in time to prevent the tragic murder of a princess.

Unfortunately, the wizard (Roddy McDowell) is a bumbling fool as well, so the knight (Rene Russo from Mission: Impossible and Godzilla) and his servant end up in 2000 . . . and Chicago.

By an amazing coincidence, they appear in a museum and appear to be characters in period costumes. But they don't just "fit right in" as you might suspect — they "freak right out" at their strange surroundings! Laughing

By another strange coincidence, a lovely museum employee (Christina) happens to look just like the dead princess, and she comes to the aid of the confused men from the past. However, her resemblance is caused by the fact that she's a descendant of the knight and the princess, so the knight's quest to get back to the 12th century and save the princess will also affect Christina.

This movie didn't do well at the box office, by I enjoyed it very much several years ago.

J'aurais aimé que la version française avec sous-titres anglais soit sur YouTube.

(I wish the French version with English subtitles was on YouTube.)

Les critiques ont dit que l'original français était beaucoup mieux.

(Critics said the French original was much better.)

J'ai été surpris d'apprendre que Jean Reno et Christian Clavier ont joué dans les deux versions.

(I was surprised to learn that Jean Reno and Christian Clavier starred in both versions.)
