My wife watched it with me and was surprised that the BOOTS (not shoes) she wore had not made a come back at some time, she really liked them, and I can assure you she has the legs to make them look great. |

Actually I'm not sure if they're shoes OR boots!? They're sort of a half-boot on the back side, but from the front they look like shoes.
I tried to come up with a name for this unusual "shoe/boot" combination.
Are they "shoots"? Or are they "boose"? 
Your wife sounds like a wonderful person. You two should get Flight to Mars costumes and go to conventions together. Be sure to get a few pictures!

It occurred to me that these shoe/boots would look and fit better with crossed straps over the shines.

Not bad, but I lean towards "ShoBoots". Shobooties sounds like training shoes for toddlers.
And that gal in the picture ain't no toolder! Booties on females that age are NOT located on their feet!

Always enjoyed Cameron Mitchell's performances.
As a fan of NBC's The High Chaparral TV western show (1967~1971), he was one of the series leads. His colorful Buck Cannon character was a favorite of mine. He wore a cool looking western cowboy outfit to boot. |
