I don't want to come right out say I don't like Will Farrell, so I'll just let's say that, relatively speaking, I'm a huge fan of everybody on the planet who isn't him.
His presence in this movie probably didn't sink it singlehandedly, but nobody can accuse Will of not doing his fair share.
Hey, don't take my word for it. Here's what Ron Meyer, president of Universal Pictures, said about it at the Savannah Film Festival in 2011.
"Land of the Lost was just crap. I mean, there was no excuse for it. The best intentions all went wrong."
Harsh words, huh? And bear in mind that as the studio head, he was speaking from a strong personal bias in the film's favor — so just imagine what he really thought about it.
It cost Universal $100 million and it only made $69 million, which earned it a coveted place among the greatest cinematic stink bombs of all time. And yet Farrell's other masterpiece, "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" made $90 million for Columbia, even though that movie couldn't have been crappier if they'd filmed it on used toilet paper.

Friend of mine finds Will a hoot; I don't at all.

My son-in-law put on the "Ricky Bobby" DVD while I was visiting my daughter's family recently, and he just cackled like a hyena while Mr. Farrell ran around in his underwear on the race track, screaming about how he was on fire.
I was gritting my teeth so hard I thought I was going to fracture a molar.
Humor. Subjective. Yes indeed. _________________ ____________
