A big thank you for the search. Yes $60 is a bit on the high side, but something to consider, thanks again. My searches have been less successful.

Interesting observation. I wonder what the logic was to portray women as so vulnerable? If the women were replaced with men what would that do?

Aside from the obvious titillation factor, maybe it had something to do with trying to "reset" society to traditional gender roles after women got a taste of independence during WWII?

I wonder if more men than women, like, appreciate, watch Sci-Fi, or is it about equal?

And we see studios producing lavish epic SF movies that will have---more and more often than ever before---a female protagonist.

Ellen Ripley in Alien & Aliens, Sarah Connor in the Terminator franchise, Casey Newton in Tomorrowland.

The superhero films have really done a splendid job of making the female heroes as important as the male ones.

Sue Storm, Jean Grey, Mystique, Wonder Woman, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, The Wasp, Storm. Television has given us Supergirl, Stargirl, Rita Farr & Crazy Jane of Doom Patrol, Batwoman.

So the men may still outnumber the women in movies and on television, the ladies are most certainly moving forward and making their mark so that SF is not a males only membership. SF is gaining more female fans compared to past decades. Things are certainly shifting compared to the 50's & 60's, etc. And that's a good thing.

DYK? Billy Chapin who plays young Brian Roberts aka "Gadge" was born William McClellan Chapin Jr (December 28, 1943~December 2, 2016). He is the older brother of Lauren Chapin (May 23, 1945) best known for her role of Kathy "Kitten" Anderson on the family sitcom Father Knows Best (1954~1960).

Sadly, Lauren writes in her autobiography that their real home life with their single mother who was a stage parent was plagued by abuse and alcohol. Billy would struggle with alcohol and drug issues while in his 20s and 30s. Billy served in the USMC, and later achieved a college education. He would go on to marry and have 3 children.
