I love Forbidden Planet! It's one of my all time favorite films. The ship, the C-57D Starcruiser is also an all time favorite!
Here is my 1:72 (28" diameter!)Build up of the ship. It's the first issue of the model. I built this way back in 2001. I recently pulled it off it's shelf in my storage/shop put a new battery in it and took some pictures! I hope to build another in the near future!
Thanks!

Hot damn, Mark! I don't know which to rave about first your model-making genius or your photographic skills!
All Sci-Fi has several members who are fine model builders, and I know we'd all agree that you stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them all.
As the proud of site-admin of this forum, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that you couldn't possibly post too many pictures of your outstanding work!
Furthermore, you'll notice from other threads by members like Trekriffic (< link) that we just can't get enough of the detailed descriptions our members have shared with us about their amazing projects.
Like the old saying about modelers goes

Excellent work! I had the big Polar Lights C-57D kit in my stash for several years but ended up selling it. It would have been too much aggravation to glue all those pizza slices together and fill and smooth all the seams. I can see why the kit was engineered that way to save tooling costs, but it makes it a PITA to build.
Sure makes a great display piece, though. The thing is the size of a cocktail table! |

Outstanding work
I have that kit and started building it but it was too big and too much of a PITA to finish (as scotpens said).
I need to pack it up and sell it some day. _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |
