Over the last few years I've switched from one of my three identical Toshiba Satellite laptops to another whenever one of them needed repair. So today wanted to find out if my beautiful download of Tron was on the one I'm currently using.
Happily, it is!
I'd love to share this movie in All Sci-Fi's Chatzy Room!
Unfortunately I've had very little luck in enticing any of our members other than Phantom, Gord Green, and Trekriffic to join us!
I realize that watching a movie and chatting online is best whenever someone has the kind of set I'm fortunate to have, as shown above — but in past years All Sci-Fi has hosted weekly synchro-cinema chats which lasted for months!
And meanwhile, the folks over on the Classic Horror Film Board have conducted two movie chats every week for several years which occur on both Tuesdays and Fridays. These events have attracted a dozen members almost every time!
Come on, guys! If they can do this twice a week for years at a time, why can't I get you folks to show even once a week?
Think it over, guys! We're in the middle of pandemic that threatens to sabotage Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years!
So, why can't I interest our members in gathering once a week — on any day we all think would be best — so we can enjoy a movie together?
Please reply to this post with your honest opinions on this issue. I'm not really asking for commitments . . . I begging for an explanation! _________________ ____________

"27 Things We Learned from the ‘Tron’ Commentary"
https://filmschoolrejects.com/27-things-we-learned-from-the-tron-commentary-89ed3c066303/
Quote: | 8. Because so few 65mm cameras were available at the time, flaws in the equipment were worked around. The commentators joke about finding sand from Lawrence of Arabia in the equipment and one of the viewfinders was broken, requiring the cameraman to point and shoot without being sure of what was in frame.
...
11. The filmmakers originally approached Peter O’Toole to play Dillinger, but O’Toole wanted to play Tron. During a meeting with Lisberger at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, O’Toole jumped on the furniture and declared, “I can do this!” He claimed that he wanted Tron on his tombstone right next to Lawrence of Arabia. |
