If you think that an old propane tank would make an clumsy, ugly sub -- well, you'd be mostly wrong. This is certainly no Seaview, but it's still dang good!

This guy stole my idea! I've always wanted to do this.

Like him I would keep as much on the outside as possible.

Whats the rated depth?

I watched the video again, but I didn't hear them mention the depth rating. But since it's only been in a small pond, I suspect it would take more pressure than it's ever likely to get.

I wonder what kind of glass the used in the portholes. That would the weakest spots, right? Confused

I don't think I would trust it below 100 ft. I think I would be uncomfortable going below 50 ft.

Back when I was a school teacher, I demonstrated the force of water pressure to my elementary school students by using a large plastic jar filled with water and a big rubber glove like the ones which maids used to scrub ovens with strong chemicals.

The rubber glove was over-sized, and when I allowed the kids to watch me lower my hand slowly into the big jar of water, they were amazed by the way the loose fabric would suddenly squeeze in around my smaller hand — creating large wrinkles which formed to take up the lack caused by the fact that my hand was so much smaller than the glove!

And all this was caused by the water pressure from a mere eight inches of water! Shocked

So, I'm well aware that the pressure from 50 feet of water would be an awesome force! Very Happy
