Adventure, romance, Kung-Fu, cowboys, Indians, action, and more humor than a pack of laughing hyenas high on pot!
The pairing of Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan is the "Hope and Crosby" of the 21st Century. These two couldn't possibly be more different, but their interaction is smoother than two gears dipped in oil!
Owen is the charming con man with a BS degree in BS, if you catch my drift.
Jackie just oozes trust, sincerity, the awesome ability to use everything within reach to kick the keister of anyone who threatens him! But when he does this, he doesn't look tough and he doesn't look confident, he looks scared and confused — which makes his amazing martial arts movements all the more admirable.
The dialog that Owen and Jackie treat us to is a pure delight. Owen spouts lies and false claims of his own greatness more often than Donald Trump, while Jackie is as honest as Abe Lincoln!
The music in both movies is rousing and beautiful, and the villains are despicable bastards who die horribly, just they way we hope they would.
The heroines are lovely ladies who steal our foolish hearts.
The second movie came out in 2003, so it's been fourteen years since the last one, and I doubt that either of these two great actors could withstand the rigors of a third film, so I guess we won't get a second sequel.
Hollywood should have made this a trilogy . . .
