In Night Rider, the talking car of the future had glass so tough a bullet would bounce off and not leave a scratch.
In reality, even a sheet of steel no thicker than a car window will dent if hit by a bullet.
But the guy in this video has actually developed a material that can stop the bullets from an AK-47.
Watch, learn, and take notes. They'll be a quiz afterwards. ( . . . not. )

Rounds from an M16/AK series are designed to wound, so penetration is not a priority. If you watch video of SWAT teams, you will see that the are using the M4 carbine, where they used to use .9mm submachine guns. This is because it was found that .9mm round penetrated the walls easier than the M4's 5.46 rounds.
Stopping a heavy caliber like a .30-06/.308, which is designed for penetration is another matter. If he can stop a .50BMG round, then that is really impressive, as the .50BMG was designed to defeat armor.
The only know use of a .50BMG caliber rife in a crime, that I have read of, was to rob an armored car. Armored cars have aluminum armor, because aluminum will deform where steel will be fail. But a .50BMG round will punch right through aluminum armor.
