J.L. Roop probably worked with Willis (King Kong) O'Brien on the stop-motion for 1925's The Lost World. For sure, he worked on the spoof of that famous dino film. Some brief scenes:

_Stop-Motion Rarities: The Lost Whirl by John Bray

Here's the description of the movie, from the Youtube site itself.

This is a really rare one. With the success of the 1925 film, THE LOST WORLD, it is bound that when something is popular and successful, it is bound to be a subject for parodies and cash-in attempts. One of them was THE LOST WHIRL (1926). This film was directed by William Strohbach, starred John Sinclair, and featured stop-motion animation by Joseph L. Roop, who worked on the original 1925 classic, THE LOST WORLD.

Enjoy this rare spoof/cash-in attempt from John Bray of Bray Studios.

Better late than never ... let's try this (I've been trapped in a time paradox for the past couple of years):

Just finished watching The Lost Whirl, and it was entertaining enough. The dinosaurs were a little crude to say the least, but the film, overall, is worth a watch.
